Rich Hua, Worldwide Head of EPIC Leadership at Amazon Web Services, is a seasoned leader in emotional and social intelligence training with decades of experience. He pioneered emotional intelligence programs at Amazon, Oracle, and globally, and founded the EQ@Amazon community, the largest in the company with 50,000 members. Over three years, his EQ team trained 250,000 Amazonians and 20,000 customers. Rich's emotional intelligence content is now integral to leadership, sales, and onboarding training for Amazon employees worldwide. As a certified Innovation Evangelist, he established the San Francisco chapter of Amazon's Culture of Innovation program, delivering briefings to executives globally.
Charis Loveland - Global Program Manager
Charis Loveland serves as the Senior Program Manager for EPIC, overseeing the global strategy for the program, including data analytics and the development of EPIC offerings for both internal and external audiences. As one of the original EQ Evangelists certified at Amazon, Charis played a pivotal role in creating the certification process for future EQ Evangelists and has conducted EQ sessions for tens of thousands of Amazonians and customers.
In her previous role, Charis led the artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) team for AWS Cloud Intelligence. With over two decades of experience, she brings expertise in product management, AI, data analytics, new product introduction, file and hardware storage, and software development.
Elias Diaz Alvarez - Learning Experience Designer
Elias Diaz is responsible for steering the EPIC content strategy and developing curricula. He crafts innovative training solutions, employing various methods such as e-learning, instructor-led sessions, and peer-to-peer learning circles. Collaborating with global stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs), Elias sources materials and transforms them into interactive and captivating learning experiences. His EQ content serves as the foundation for some of Amazon's top-rated trainings, leaving a global impact on leaders.
As an original EQ Champion at Amazon, Elias also brings his expertise as a clinical psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
